died. he had a successful hit show, even before "dallas," remember "i dream of jeannie." he died yesterday in the dallas hospital of complications from cancer. he was eighty-one years old. stay with us, we'll have reaction from his show biz friends and family. and four days after being hit in the head, boxer hector "macho" camacho died. in one of his most famous bouts, in 1997, he knocked out sugar ray leonard, but proved himself in the '80s, when he won the title, the super lightweight, even as a junior welter weight, he was shot, including the man seated with him, in puerto rico. he is survived by two sons, one

of them is a boxer. and a shootout in alabama, leaving one deputy dead, one in critical condition. deputy scott ward had responded. the gunman, michael jansen, was also killed during the confrontation. and investigators are trying to figure out an explosion that damaged more than 40 buildings in springfield, massachusetts last night. they captured the moment of the blast. 18 people were injured, mostly emergency workers called to the scene. they had evacuated the area after receiving reports of the smell of gas about an hour before the explosion. and in egypt, what is happening right now makes it look like the arab spring never ended. we all remember the crowds of protesters, in tahrir square, the showdown between the supporters and critics. they are concerned about conserving its power. well, that was then. this is now, back in the

streets, president mohamed morsy has announced sweeping new power for himself, ordering egyptian courts not to overturn a decree now issued since he took office. as the crowd gathers there is a growing sense of unease over what may happen next. now, from cairo. >> reporter: demonstrations continue against the egyptian president, mohamed morsy, not the big numbers we saw on friday. but certainly, still a lot of people out here, about 30 tents here, this is an indication that many of these protesters want to be here for a while. it is not clear how long they will stay here. but when you talk to them they seem determined to speak out against mr. morsy's controversial decrees. he is saying that nobody can revise what i say. he is actually throwing the whole system out, totally. >> reporter: meanwhile, big developments in meeting rooms

and news conferences, where factions opposed mr. morsy's moves to put pressure on the system. it seemed to weaken the judiciary, by calling for a nationwide judge's strike. also the supreme judicial committee, discussed the attack on the judiciary. they called for a one-million protest and sit-in for tuesday. what does mr. morsy's group do? they call for a one-million man protest, as well on tuesday. some critical days ahead. cairo. elsewhere in the region, the signs the truce between israel and hamas is taking hold this weekend. palestinian sources say israel has eased restrictions on gaza fishermen, allowing them to go up shore. they had been restricted from going up three miles in the

mediterranean. and hamas official says that egyptian and israeli officials are expected to meet monday to discuss details of the cease-fi. and another sign, a positive one of recovery after that conflict. thousands of students have returned to school in gaza, doing that today. the schools were closed during the israeli strikes. and some of them were damaged. students and teachers say they were glad to be back. today, thank god, we returned to school. the school during the last day is some of the nearby buildings were destroyed because the minister of interior is in the same neighborhood. all the nearby buildings had some damage. we tried to renovate the school and keep students away from the damage. windows and doors are damaged. we were trying to create a real school day after what happened. >> i am happy today because the war has ended and we have a truce. >> if you didn't know, gaza has one of the youngest populations in the world, with more than 50%

under 18. how about this? we're 38 days away from the dreaded fiscal cliff. congress is ready to get back to work but can they really strike a deal before the clock runs out? we're live at the white house. and black friday. it is not the only holiday cashing in. cyber monday, we had details on how to find the early on-line deals. stay right here.

an emergency at the u.s. state department today, the fire trucks raced to the area at 11 a.m., the flash fire forced people to evacuate, and sent

three people to the hospital, one in serious condition. the good news is, not many people were in the building over the holiday weekend. and the deal to avoid the fiscal cliff, still out of reach. despite the congressional staffers working through the thanksgiving weekend. let's get athena jones in washington. athena, are they optimistic they can find common ground? >> reporter: well, they say they are, you know, with congress returning, and so far not much public evidence that there has been any real progress in the deal to avoid the fiscal cliff. folks here in washington hope there can be a turning point between republicans and democrats. after meeting with president obama before the thanksgiving holiday? >> well, i want to welcome the congressional leadership here. >> reporter: congressional leaders express optimism about reaching a deal to avoid $500

billion in increases set to take effect next year. >> we had a very constructive meeting with the president. >> we have a cornerstone to work something out. >> reporter: staffers have been working to figure something out, how to avoid taxes, and reduce spending on medicare. but it is not yet clear when the lawmakers and the president will meet next. and even if some progress is made this week, a final deal could still be a long way off. >> we rarely see the hill and the white house make decisions early. they tend to do better when they have a deadline. so i -- i would be pleasantly surprised to see it -- a deal emerge earlier than the end of the year, but we'll see. >> reporter: and martin, even though there is not another meeting between the president and lawmakers on the president's schedule, that could certainly change.

until christmas. let's bring in wendy walsh. you know it is a stressful time for people, but it is difficult for some, it must be very tough for the ones who can't find jobs. >> not only is it tough, but dangerous for their health. a new study came out showing if you are unemployed you have a much higher risk of having a heart attack that may even rival the risks associated with say smoking or obesity or high blood pressure. if you have had four losses or four periods of unemployment in your life you may have as high as a 63% higher risk of a heart attack than somebody who is employed. so it doesn't make the holidays fun that is for sure, when you're also dealing with this additional stress. >> that is pretty amazing numbers there. but even if you have a job there, we know the holidays can be bad for your mental health, why? >> well, because the holidays are a big giant time machine.

when we go back to families, we zip back and go back to twelve years old, so we have all the triggers that happens. the sibling rivalry happens. we're now in our fifties, there is a favorite sibling. people compete for the best cooking, and sometimes there could be an abusive childhood, and it can be pretty difficult to face these people again. >> and my own father passed away on christmas eve, and that comes back, you remember it, what can you do though to get through the holidays? >> well, there are a number of things you can do. first of all, if you know it is coming you can plan ahead. you know, air fare is expensive, we like to book ahead, if all you can do are three days with your family, then do a shorter trip. plan ahead on that.

secondly, you want to make sure that if there is a family member who you have regular conflict with, you don't try to wait until christmas eve to do the repair. start now, you can phone the family member up. they're a different person, you're a different person, time has passed. you can try to repair ahead of time, very, very important. the other important thing is when you do finally arrive, try not to regress, remember, you're not twelve, you're a wise person, keep in that personality. remember you are loved and loveable. and finally, there are plenty of times where you're just going to have to say pass the potatoes. when you hear the digs, and family members are throwing the insults at you. this is the time to have grace, hold your head high and say pass the potatoes, please. >> i like that very much, dr. wendy walsh, thank you very much for joining us. we look forward to talking to

call now. ♪ just a few minutes ago, hollywood officials placed flowers on larry hagman's star on the hollywood walk of fame. he died today in dallas, the city where his most famous tv character came to life. >> the chemistry between you two was supposed to be what? loving or not loving? >> love-hate kind of thing, she hated me and i loved her. >> larry hagman, and co-star, linda gray, remembering the hit show. larry hagman was a texas man. but he made a big bark in hollywood, didn't he?

>> reporter: of course, and i can't tell you how many people have been stopping by, paying honor to larry hagman, here on the walk of fame the memories take you back. some say it is quite surreal. they can't believe he is gone. some of the co-stars here, it was probably a difficult day for them. i just heard that little bit with linda gray. and one of the last things she did, there was always a twinkle in her eye, i bet there was when she spoke about her best friend for some 30 years. when news broke about her friend, she tweeted saying he was one of a kind, really a larger than life friend. and that is what we have heard all day from people stopping by. and martin, a couple of people say they were stunned by this. this was a working actor, working right up to his death. the new series, "dallas," on

tnt, he reprised his role, and reportedly shot 15 or 16 episodes. many were stunned. here is what they said about the late actor. >> everything seemed to be just going so well. and it was exciting that he had an opportunity to sort of bring back his career, and you know, the new show seemed to be doing well. and everybody was just so excited to see all the characters that they loved so long back on the show. i mean, it was pretty amazing that they all agreed to come back and do that together. i'm not sure how it will work without him. >> the recent revival of that show, i can't believe he was eighty-one years old. >> and that is something the new

writers will have to deal with, he was such a key figure, a key character in this show. so that is for later. right now, hollywood is mourning one of the great legends of our time. and the star here, it is a little lull here, but in the past few hours, just remembering, the legacy. right next to his mom's star, mary martin, who was also an actress. a very, very successful actress in her time. so a day of remembering, honoring, and reflection for one of hollywood's great legends. martin? >> all right, thank you very much for that. larry hagman will be very much missed. i interviewed him a couple of times and he was always very fun to talk to. half past the hour, and let's take a look at the headlines. in egypt, judges are calling for a nationwide strike over a perceived power grab by the president.

as crowds of young people protest in cairo, a top association of egyptian judges wants every judge to walk off the job. they are angry because of a decree giving mohamed morsy unchecked power. the country's highest judicial power calls the decree an unprecedented attack. and 38 days to solve the fiscal cliff. lawmakers are trying to cut a deal. if congress and president obama fail to reach a massive deal, that is, on tax hikes and spending cuts, well, it will automatically kick in, in january. and grover norquist, the latest republican to break with norquist, no tax hike pledge. chambliss says he cares more about the country than the pledge. and superstorm sandy has cost new jersey more than $29 billion. and the number could easily rise. governor chris christie says the number will only be known after

a just released documentary adds another twist to the murder trial of o.j. simpson. my brother, the serial killer, from the investigation discovery channel claims that o.j. simpson was the mastermind, but not the actual murderer. the documentary says that o.j. simpson hired a serial killer, to kill -- or rob, rather, in this case -- nicole brown simpson. >> he said who am i partying? me, nobody knew who that was, i thought who was that? bart simpson's sister, he said no, he told me that was o.j.

simpson's wife. actually what he said, they got money, they're well off and i'm taking her down. >> uh-huh, okay, while o.j. simpson was acquitted of the murders, a civil jury determined that simpson was liable for the murders. so let's talk to holly hughes, she is a criminal defense attorney. how valuid is this claim? >> you know, i didn't really see it. i actually watched the documentary, because that is a tantalizing lead, who else killed them? he is sitting on death row, the execution is pending in florida. so i think it is an attempt. multiple things going on here, he wants to prolong the execution, because if he has information, they will say give him the stay, we'll find out what he knows. also, it is full of information, the family members are sort of all jumping on this bandwagon,

so i am not sure there is a lot of credence. the evidence just doesn't match any of the other murders that he committed. and the other murders are women that he was involved with sexually. that he just met, he was not a robber, per se, just a cold-blooded killer. and these patterns, they don't fit. >> are they just looking into it? >> he made claims, claims he took a gold angel pen off of nicole after he murdered her, mailed it to his mother, said wear it during one of the murder trials. so of course they're going to go back and interview him, did she have a pen on, people snapped photos. they will look for any kind of physical evidence that will corroborate this story. he also claims now that he was partying with her and went in there to paint her house. they will interview anybody and everybody that was hired.

they can track financials, who did she pay? i think we'll find this is just a desperate grab at this, and he had nothing to do with it. >> people will talk about it. >> interestingly enough, what this serial killer does say is well, o.j. simpson planned it. he told me you might have to kill the blank, we won't go into the language. so even if that is true, o.j. simpson would still be guilty of the murders. so even what this serial killer alleges, doesn't absolve him, he would still be guilty of the murderers. >> all right, before i go, we'll talk about nudity, the san francisco board is about to ban the public nudity. some protesters immediately got naked, of course you would. because you can. and we have heard all about the nude beaches, but i thought it was already against the law to be nude in public. and i didn't know you needed an

additional law. >> in california, that is not true necessarily. they do have something called a decent exposure. but there is what we call elements of a crime. and any time the prosecutor wants to find you guilty of the crime, have the jury find you guilty, they have to find three things. the third element says you have to be naked and exposing your genitals for the purpose of either sexually arousing yourself or somebody else. so martin, if you are just walking down the street saying i like to be free in the breeze, guess what? that is not necessarily indecent exposure. so you can be naked all you want, as long as it is not for that horrible purpose of just wanting to be free. >> well, does it limit my free speech of going without clothing? >> well, i don't think so, there is speech and then just letting it all hang out. so there is speech, and there is i have a right to express myself

by being completely naked. and the city council is saying no, oddly enough, the reason he proposes the legislation, when naked people sit on public benches they don't put a towel or newspaper under them. no, i'm not kidding, this is great stuff, isn't it? nude in san francisco. there is a headline, but he should have gone under -- like public healthy, or safety, just because you're not necessarily a clean person. his big problem is you all are not putting a newspaper or towel under you, that is why he wants to ban it in the city limits. but right now, if that is not for indecent purpose, you can walk into the supermarket, naked as a jay bird, who knew? absolutely great to be with you martin. and the naked truth. well, she is called a miracle baby, with her heart born outside of her body. and it is stunning, we'll hear

this holiday holds a particular meaning for one texas family. they are giving special thanks for their new baby, who just had heart surgery. the baby girl was born with part of her heart on the outside of her body. kristi meyers has the story, and a viewing note, showing graphic details of the girl's medical condition. >> reporter: ashley cardena sees her new baby for the first time after extraordinary surgery to put her baby's heart back inside of her chest. little adrina was born with a third of her heart born outside her body. it was stunning for the surgeons even to see it. >> it was like the heart was pinched in the middle.

>> reporter: this was picked up on an ultrasound, and usually is fatal. but ashley made the difficult decision to keep her baby, and pray. >> but i had to come with the belief that there is a reason she is here. >> reporter: in a six-hour surgery, the surgeons reconstructed her chest, to make space and gently made the space. now five weeks old, she is doing well. she still has a small hole inside her heart, but doctors say it may heal on its own. >> they have no idea how thankful i am. if it was not for them as well as the grace of god she wouldn't be here. >> well, what an amazing story. that was kristi meyers reporting. experts say that eight babies
